The Adventure Continues

My adventure that is. I am pleased to be able to say that I have signed a further contract with Austin Macauley for the second book of Gummy's adventures. More about that later.

Meanwhile I have been busy promoting story writing in general, and my book in particular.

I spent the day on Wednesday 11th October at Barlaston First School. I had been invited to read some of the stories from "The Adventures of Gummy the Goldfish" to the boys and girls of years 1 and 2 and then to talk about story writing and host a question and answer session with years 3 and 4, much to the excitement of my twin grandchildren who are in year 4 and did not know I was going to be in school ! I was also invited back on Friday 13th to read to the nursery classes. I had a really lovely time and am waiting for a further invite. I know the school like my book as they have a copy in each class and copies in the school library.....Thank you.

I should have been at another school on Friday 30th October, but the weather had other ideas. I was on my way to Picknalls School in Uttoxeter but, having taken 45 minutes to do 2 miles with another 12 to go, and it already being past 9a.m with the roads becoming more flooded, I was forced to abandon my journey. I have since been booked to visit them in March 2024 around World Book Day. I have also received an invitation to another local school, also in March 2024 My latest event was a book signing session as part of a craft fair in a local Community Hall. The St Michael's Community Hall in my home town of Stone held the craft fair last Saturday 18th November so I took my place amongst the jewellery stalls, the hair accessory stalls and the scented soap stalls to sign copies of my book. It was by far the most successful event I have attended so far to promote my book.

Now, back to volume 2. Six more stories with new friends for Gummy including a Clam, a Skate and a character who you might have heard of. No more spoilers. It is early days yet, but the contract is signed and production is under way... Watch this space.
